Customized Educational Programs
A COHERENT VISION OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Programs must be designed to facilitate the investigation of globally significant issues and develop transferable skills. This vision is driven by the school, with Envoys supporting in the development of school’s goals.
FOCUSED, RESEARCH-BASED CURRICULUM
Every lesson and every activity must be intentional. A program’s flexibility must be in response to the educational needs of its students.
ETHOS OF INNOVATION FOR SUCCESS
Program improvement is a iterative process. Today’s ceiling must be tomorrow’s floor. We work with schools to push the boundaries of global education.
EVALUATIONS OF OUTCOMES
Teaching for understanding requires a demonstration of that learning. Evaluations are necessary to prove a program’s worth to all stakeholders. We hold programs to the same standards as classroom education.
Phase 1: Entry Points
ENVOYS’ PAST PROGRAMS FIT A SCHOOL’S NEEDS.
Envoys often initiates partnership with schools through providing past sample programming options. Schools then provide feedback we use to customize for their own needs, culture, and parameters.
ENVOYS BUILDS A PROGRAM FROM SCRATCH
Envoys has established partnerships with nonprofits, schools, social enterprises, and governments in 16 different countries. We leverage this network to design a learning experience in-country: internships, service learning, immersion, and others.
ENVOYS EXPANDS INTO A NEW COUNTRY
Envoys partnerships are about great people coming together. We love to work with schools to expand into new countries, and build new in-country partnerships to specifically meet a school’s vision for a program.
Phase 2: Collaboration
CREATE A FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS.
Envoys begins the operations preparation for programming 3-5 months in advance of travel. Students have access to online courses that prepare them for the country content and to be a responsible traveler. Envoys staff become familiar and approachable to parents, students, and school staff through pre-departure sessions Internally, we design customized Risk Management and Assessment Plans, and send advance teams to country sites.
EMBRACE THE BIG WIDE WORLD
Parents have access to a secure Trip tracking portal with GPS locations, photos, and blog posts for the group. Students carry Program Manuals that support in-country curriculum, and pocket cards to ensure safety resources follow them wherever they go. Envoys participants learn to become travelers, not tourists. We witness transformation teams come together, young leaders emerge, and further questions about our world sparked in minds.
UNDERSTAND STUDENT OUTCOMES.
Envoys believes that, as an educational organization, we have a responsibility to prove to ourselves and our stakeholders that our work has made a difference. Through surveys, post-trip interviews, and other mediums, we are constantly pushing the capacity of our assessments to measure situational empathy, gained global understanding, and accumulation of skills. This helps schools demonstrate value for their stakeholders, and lets us make our programs better and better.
